What Level Are You?

Knowing your ability level makes it easier to communicate your experience and current skill set. Before you embark on a plan with us or arrive at our resort, we always ask you about your current ability so that we can create approach designed to maximize your progress and enjoyment in both your nutrition and fitness.  Here is a summary of which skills are typical of each level.

Level One

If you are Level One, you live either a sedentary life or have a little exercise experience but you are completely new to eating well.

You have a high body fat % (>18% for men, >25% for women). You have a poor kitchen set up and tend to eat out or order take out meals regularly. You shop for groceries infrequently and when you do you tend to buy mostly pre-packaged, ready meals.

You need guidance in basic food education and habit development, such as basic food selection, grocery shopping strategies, and better meal planning and preparation. You would like to learn new healthy recipes and how to incorporate lower calorie, nutrient dense foods into your diet.

You would like to start working out but have no clue where to start or what you should do to stay safe and avoid injury. You need some motivation to get moving and start a new healthier lifestyle.


Level Two

If you are Level Two, you live either a sedentary life or have some exercise experience. You            have some understanding of good nutrition, yet need guidance, planning and direction.

You have a moderate body fat % (12-18% for men, 20-25% for women). You have an 'ok' kitchen set up but could benefit from learning how to incorporate specialist equipment in to your arsenal. You do well at the grocery store but still incorporate some processed and packaged meals in to your diet.

You have the basics down. However, you may need to learn more about moderating overall calorie in take, establishing correct portion size for your body type and eating the right foods at the right time of day.
You would like to start or increase your workout regime and need some structure routines to get you started.

Level Three

If you are Level Three,  you have some exercise experience. You eat the right foods at the right times and in the right amounts.

You have a lower body fat % (<12% for men, <20% for women). You have excellent shopping and preparation skills. You know your way round the kitchen and grocery shop several times a week to incorporate lots of fresh produce into your diet.

You now require very specific calorie and macronutrient information. You would like to learn how to intelligently and naturally manipulate your hormones and metabolism for your body type. You have the discipline to follow a tightly controlled plan with timed nutrient intake and are happy to increase the frequency of your workouts to get the results you want.

Level Four

If you are Level Four, you are an athlete. Exercise is part of your daily life, partaking in over 7 hours of physical activity or specific sports training a week. 

You have a low body fat % (<10% for men, <18% for women). You have excellent shopping and preparation skills. You know your way round the kitchen and grocery shop several times a week to incorporate lots of fresh produce into your diet.

You would like to learn how specific dietary stratergies and an individualized plan can help give you an edge on your performance or achieve more power, endurance and agility in your specific sport. You would like to learn how to eat when you are in your competitive season, training season or how to eat whilst recovering from an injury.
You are dedicated and able to follow a tightly controlled plan with timed nutrient intake.
